Our Policy

Advancement in broadband technologies and the move towards ‘Big Data’ and ‘Ship Intelligence’ could expose maritime industry to cyber-crime actions. As a preventative measures the Company promotes a better awareness of ICT (information, communication technology) security and adopts security best management practice.

The Company give high priority to its IT-workstations ashore and on board, the network set up and means of effective and safe communication between vessels and ashore and strongly emphasizes that standards must be met by each individual employee within the organization. It is the policy of the Company to ensure that all employees within the organization, both ashore and on board its vessels, use the established IT-systems in effective and professional manners and that at the its required IT standards always are being met by having Company representatives inspecting or auditing each vessel required intervals.

It is Company policy that only licensed, and by the Company approved, software shall be installed ashore and on board the vessels and relevant expiring dates shall be adequately monitored. The Company will initiate disciplinary actions against any violation of this IT policy including issued procedures and such actions may lead to termination of the employment for the violator.

The goal of the Company’s Cyber risk management is to identify the risks, understand their likelihood and impact on the business, and then put in place security controls that mitigate the risks to an acceptable level as per industrial standards, through specific guidelines or procedures.
